You don't need to pump weights to build muscles. Instead, try any of these three workouts that will help you get buff while increasing energy and stamina.

When you think about building muscle, chances are you imagine lifting as much weight as possible, sweating in a gym, and pulling several muscles in the process. The truth is, there are other ways to build lean, buff muscles without lifting any weights at all. You can firm and build up your abs, pecs, glutes, you name it, while increasing stamina and flexibility as well. Sound too good to be true? Try one, two, or all three of these workouts and see how big you get and how quickly.

Practice Yoga

Yoga isn't just for women or wimpy guys. In fact, if you haven't tried a yoga workout before then you're truly missing out on something that can help you increase muscle mass while reducing stress. Another added benefit of yoga is flexibility which can help you in many ways. You won't be as prone to injury and even lovemaking can be better with regular yoga practice. There are many styles of yoga from the more traditional hatha yoga to the hot and sweaty Bikram yoga.

Take a Swim

You can swim year-round since this isn't only a summer workout. Most gyms have indoor pools and you can't get a better workout that is virtually no-impact. Swimming can really beef up your back, shoulder, arm and leg muscles while increasing your lung capacity. When swimming you'll be getting a complete workout inside and out without antagonizing any old injuries you may have. Swimming is truly an invigorating yet gentle workout that builds muscle fast.

Hit the Pilates Mat

If you think Pilates is a workout just for the girls then think again. This type of exercise routine focuses on building your core muscles so you get hot, sexy abs in no time, as well as strengthening your back, legs and stretching your muscles. You'll discover muscle groups you never knew existed once you try a Pilates routine. In a few short weeks you'll really notice a difference in muscle tone and that six-pack may finally make an appearance.

Mix It Up

When it comes to getting a buff, built body you don't need to reach for dumbbells or weight machines. Just pick and choose from these three killer-workouts and watch your muscles grow and stamina increase tenfold. However, if you do enjoy lifting weights, it's still a good idea to change up your routine and lift weights one day then follow one of the above workouts the next so your muscles can heal from the heavy lifting. It's also wise to mix-up your routines so you don't get bored and work out the same muscles over and over again.

Find at least two or even six different types of workouts and you'll be sure to get every part of your body strengthened. Also, you may be surprised to see how fast you tone up when you switch your exercise routines compared to following the same one day in and day out.
